Our Story: From Farm to First Pour

The Vanderbilt Vines story began in 2020, when our family planted the first vines and committed to building a working vineyard from the ground up. Over the next several years, raw farmland was carefully transformed into a thriving estate vineyard.

Every decision was intentional. From vine selection to vineyard layout, the goal was never speed — it was quality and longevity.

Our long-term vision came to life in December 2025, when Vanderbilt Vines officially opened its winery and tasting room. For our family, it marked the realization of a multi-year dream. For our guests, it created a new Northern Michigan winery destination worth the drive.

Estate-Grown Northern Michigan Wines

Great wine starts in the vineyard. At Vanderbilt Vines, our wines are made from estate-grown, cold-hardy hybrid grapes selected specifically for Northern Michigan’s climate. These varietals allow us to produce wines with balance, character, and consistency — vintage after vintage.
